DEBT POOLS AND DEAD POOLS THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CON GAME ROLLS ON
Max Keiser Radio — 20 Jan 2010
Max and Stacy discuss the three main debt pools that have sunk the world economy over the last few years. They are: bank debt, personal debt, and government debt.
It turns out only one of the three pools has deleveraged significantly since the crisis began: bank debt. That's because the big banks have transferred their debt to the government debt pool. Ultimately, government will transfer the burden to the taxpayers' debt pool.
Also discussed is the fiat currency 'dead pool'. Which wavering national currency is most likely to follow the Iceland krona into deadly default or devaluation?

Is the Senate's Magic Number 60? — 22 Jan 2010 — The media reminded us over and over that the Democrats' 60th vote was at stake in the Massachusetts special election even though a bill only needs 51 votes to pass the Senate. It is ending a filibuster that requires 60 yay's. James Fallows says the media have done a poor job of clarifying this point, thereby obscuring a historic shift in the democratic process.
